since February 2022, month when Russia invaded Ukraine, the countries, mostly european, have been taking a stand in relation to what happened., and how they intend to take the next steps in foreign policy. The France, from the start, sided with Ukraine in the conflict, supporting the country with budget assistance and defense equipment.
Recently, the american secretary of defense, Lloyd Austin, declared “see Russia weakened to the point where it can't do the things it did in invading Ukraine” during your trip to Kiev. still, the re-elected president of France, Emmanuel Macron, tried to distance himself from the idea of ââweakening Russia, and stated at the Conference on the Future of Europe: “Never give in to temptation or humiliation or the spirit of revenge”. for Macron, the objective remains to re-establish Ukraine's historic borders, or, if it's not possible, restore borders before the Russian invasion of 24 of February.
Despite positioning itself in favor of France, Macron says he does not intend to go to war with Russia, in addition to the war against Ukraine having caused a âruptureâ in Europe. He also added that he considers it important to keep in touch with both Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, and Vladimir Putin, from Russia. The French leader said he had kept in touch with Putin several times to try to avoid escalating the conflict and put aside weapons., putting an end to violence.
According to him, France is not against Russia and not against Ukraine, because Russia was a great ally in World War II to save Europe, and there's no reason to have a rivalry. Is today, the country is side by side with Russians who do not believe in this war and want to plead for peace, supporting the hundreds of thousands of refugees.
Due to the facts mentioned, it can be said that France energetically coordinates the war in Ukraine, Since, as mentioned above, his determination has always been to stop conflicts remain at peace, because a war like this reflects in all other European countries.
